Sharkskin Agave, scientifically known as Agave x ferdinandi-regis x scabra, is a hybrid of two Agave species. Agave plants are succulents native to the arid regions of Mexico and the southwestern United States.

Sharkskin Agave is named after its unique leaf texture, which resembles the rough and textured skin of a shark. The leaves of this variety are thick and fleshy, typically growing in a rosette shape close to the ground. The distinct texture of the leaves, combined with their bluish-gray coloration, creates an attractive and ornamental appearance.

Like other Agave species, Sharkskin Agave is well-suited to desert-like environments and requires minimal water and maintenance. It is known for its ability to withstand drought and thrive in sandy or rocky soils with good drainage.

Sharkskin Agave can be grown in gardens or used as a striking focal point in xeriscapes or rock gardens.
