Bunny ear cactus has thick, 2-6 inch pads that make up the body in segments. They grow two at a time, earning its nickname bunny ear cactus. The young pads are reddish in color and become green as they age.
No thorns or spines, but numerous tiny glochids that appear to be fuzzy from a distance will hook onto those that come into contact, causing irritation.
Small, 1-3 inch yellow flowers when in bloom, which occurs infrequently. Purple fruits will emerge thereafter.
Bunny ear cactus, when mature, is about 2-3 feet tall and 3-6 feet wide.

Caring for Bunny Ear Cactus is easy and is similar to caring for the typical cactus. The main issue is overwatering.
Soil: Loose, well-draining soil that is lightly fertile.
Temperature: Can withstand temperatures down to 40 degrees. Does well in the heat.
Water: Occasional, deep watering. Allow the soil to completely dry out between waterings. Either use a moisture meter or stick your finger through the soil to gauge the moisture level. It’s better to err on the side of underwatering than overwatering.
