Aloe Camperi Appearance
Aloe camperi is a small aloe, growing to about 2-3 feet tall and wide. However, it spreads by producing many offsets to form a large, dense clump.
The succulent leaves are medium green, turning more pale or reddish with a lot of sun or deep green with more shade.
Rosette shape with long and slender leaves that taper towards the end, similar to aloe vera. They curve upwards and arch over. Toothy spines alongside the margins of the leaves.
Tall flower inflorescences with clusters of orange-yellow tubular flowers. Quite a spectacle with mature Nubian aloe clumps because of the profusion of flowers.
Followed by green seed pods.
Aloe Camperi Landscaping Tips
Aloe camperi is a rare desert plant. Great candidate for a succulent collection.
Provides nectar for local hummingbirds.
To maintain the aloe’s deep green color, we recommend providing afternoon shade in hot and dry desert regions.
If growing directly in soil, provide some space for it to grow since it likes to form clumps.
Easy to propagate and share with others due to the generous number of offsets it creates.
Aloe Camperi Origin
Aloe camperi is from northeastern Africa, in areas that are warm and slightly elevated.
